**Job Description:**
Altenar is seeking a Data Infrastructure Engineer to join their Technology team. The role involves the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of the Altenar Intelligence Platform, as well as contributing to its architectural roadmap. The ideal candidate will have experience with large-scale data collection using messaging systems, distributed logs, and streaming technologies. They should also possess a strong systems engineering background, be comfortable with network protocols and server administration, and have experience managing compute clusters for data warehousing and data lakes. This position requires strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment.
**Responsibilities:**
* Continuously update knowledge and skills in streaming, warehousing, and big data technologies.
* Collaborate with Solution Architects and Technology team stakeholders on the architectural development of the Altenar Intelligence Platform.
* Design, develop, and support data pipelines, warehouses, data models, and reporting systems.
* Work with Data Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers, and Data Services Engineers to implement infrastructure for data collection, movement, and storage.
* Manage compute cluster and HDFS maintenance.
* Conduct capacity planning for the Altenar Intelligence Platform.
* Manage data availability through backup and recovery strategies.
* Participate in architecture review processes to ensure data flow considerations are addressed.
* Review log files and metrics, providing feedback to data analysts and developers.
* Implement data security measures.
* Research and test new data services tools.
* Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, multinational, and multicultural environment.
* Create and maintain documentation for provided solutions.
**Experience/Skills Required:**
* Experience with streaming technologies such as Spark streaming.
* Experience with messaging systems and distributed logs (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
* Experience in implementing Real-Time Streaming Architecture.
* Experience with DevOps practices and tools (Git, Infrastructure-as-Code).
* Strong systems background with understanding of IO performance and network protocols.
* Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
* Experience with Grafana and Prometheus is a plus.
* Experience with Ansible is a plus.
* Knowledge of C# or Java is an advantage.
* Strong research and validation skills.
* Prior experience in data warehouse design, tool selection, and support.
* Strong presentation skills.
* Proficient in spoken and written English.
* Graduate-level education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.
