Our technology not only optimizes farm efficiency but also ensures high standards of animal welfare. Around 800,000 cows in the US are under our monitoring. We secured $3.7M in funding from serial angel investors, VCs and domain experts.
Role
Deliver end-to-end product improvements across Django/DRF APIs and Next.js frontends, including integrations and background processing, with a strong focus on reliability and maintainability.
Our stack (high level)
- Backend: Django (5.x) + DRF, Celery, Redis, Nginx
- Databases: MySQL + PostgreSQL
- Frontend: Next.js + TypeScript + React (multiple apps)
- Infra/CI: docker compose, GitLab CI
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve backend features in Django + DRF:
– design and implement APIs (auth, permissions/roles, validations, consistent error responses)
– optimize database access (queries, indexes where needed)
– build internal/admin tooling and management commands
- Work with Celery + Redis for async/background jobs; ensure idempotency and production readiness.
- Build frontend features in Next.js + TypeScript:
– forms and validation (e.g., react-hook-form, zod)
– state management (e.g., Zustand where used)
– data fetching/caching (e.g., React Query where used)
– UI components and Storybook-driven development where applicable
- Own features “API → UI → deployment”:
– local dev environments and troubleshooting via docker compose
– collaborate on CI/CD improvements (build, deploy, smoke gates)
- Improve reliability, observability, and developer experience (docs, tooling, stability).
Requirements
- 3+ years of recent experience as a full-stack developer
- Strong Python + Django experience; solid knowledge of DRF
- Solid SQL skills and performance mindset
- Strong TypeScript + React; hands-on experience with Next.js.
- Comfortable with Docker / docker compose, local environments, and CI pipelines
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-project repo (multiple frontends + backend services).
Nice to have
- Experience with Nginx and production operations fundamentals.
- Experience with background jobs at scale (Celery retry policies, monitoring, alerting).
