We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to design, secure, and govern Azure network architectures across both HIPAA-regulated and non-regulated cloud environments. This role is critical in ensuring secure connectivity, compliance, high availability, and scalability for enterprise workloads, including hybrid and multi-subscription deployments.
**Responsibilities**
* Design and maintain Azure network architectures for regulated (HIPAA) and non-regulated workloads
* Define and enforce network security controls in alignment with HIPAA, NIST, and internal security policies
* Architect hub-and-spoke and landing zone network models across multiple subscriptions and tenants
* Implement and manage secure hybrid connectivity solutions (VPN, ExpressRoute) to on-premises and partner networks
* Ensure network isolation between regulated and non-regulated environments
* Support zero-trust networking principles and implement traffic inspection strategies
* Define and manage DNS architecture (Azure DNS, Private DNS Zones, hybrid DNS)
* Provide network guidance for Kubernetes (AKS), PaaS, and SaaS integrations
* Collaborate with Security, Compliance, DevOps, and Application teams to ensure secure and compliant delivery
* Produce architecture diagrams, standards, and runbooks for network operations
**Requirements**
* Proven experience in network engineering or architecture
* Minimum 3 years designing Azure network solutions
* Deep knowledge of Azure networking services, including VNets, subnets, route tables, firewalls, load balancing, and private endpoints
* Experience working in HIPAA or other regulated environments
* Strong understanding of network segmentation and data-in-transit security
* Expertise in TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and load balancing
* Ability to design and implement secure hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute)
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
**Nice to have**
* Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-700, AZ-305)
* Experience with healthcare or life sciences workloads
* Knowledge of Kubernetes networking (AKS, ingress controllers)
* Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Bicep, Terraform)
* Experience with Azure Firewall, NSGs, ASGs, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, Front Door, Private Endpoints, and Service Endpoints
* Exposure to zero-trust networking and advanced traffic inspection strategies
* Experience producing architecture standards and operational runbooks
