We are looking for a skilled and proactive Data DevOps Engineer to drive the evaluation, configuration, and optimization of Elasticsearch and OpenSearch systems.

In this role, you will focus on ensuring optimal performance, compatibility, and security, while contributing to data architecture and automation strategies to enhance operational efficiency.

**Responsibilities**
* Analyze the current Elasticsearch setup by documenting features, plugins, integrations, and usage patterns
* Compare OpenSearch with Elasticsearch to validate feature parity, including SIEM, dashboards, alerting, and ingest pipelines
* Evaluate public APIs for compatibility with existing integrations between both platforms
* Script and automate test scenarios for API testing and functional validation using Python or Bash
* Create structured reports detailing feature gaps, behavioral differences, and compatibility issues
* Support the preparation of a final evaluation report with insights and findings from tests and analysis
* Design or adjust Elasticsearch/OpenSearch cluster setups with nodes dedicated to various roles such as ML, ingest, data, search, and warm/hot storage
* Optimize cluster settings to achieve maximum performance for ingest and query functionality
* Define and refine index lifecycle management or state management policies to efficiently move older data into long-term storage
* Develop and configure ingest pipelines for data processing operations
* Establish processes for troubleshooting and restoring cluster functionality in the event of issues

**Requirements**
* Expertise in Elasticsearch architecture, operations, and the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
* Knowledge of OpenSearch architecture and configuration
* Proficiency in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) for analytics and threat detection
* Skills in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell, combined with familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
* Background in RESTful APIs, with experience in API testing, documentation, and integration workflows
* Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms, as well as compliance with security requirements
* Competency in designing and running large-scale data migrations and ETL processes
* Proficiency with infrastructure tools such as Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration in on-premise or cloud environments
* Experience with performance testing, data visualization tools like Kibana or Grafana, and creating meaningful dashboards and reports
* Project management skills that include task planning, risk management, and effective coordination
* Fluent English communication skills at a B2+ level

* Background in OpenSearch and its feature set
* Proficiency in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) for analytics at scale
