We are seeking a Senior Scala Software Engineer to join our Software, System, and Test Engineering group. You will maintain and enhance services powering the Storefront Environment, work closely with a distributed team across US and EU time zones, and contribute to the development roadmap. Responsibilities:
* Maintain and improve services that power the Storefront Environment
* Support bug fixes and implement enhancements to applications in Production
* Mentor and help engineers become more productive by removing blockers
* Produce technical documentation of workflows related to the Storefront
* Work and collaborate with a team distributed between US and EU timezones
* Work closely with engineers to gather requirements and develop the team’s roadmap
* Explore and engage in unfamiliar languages, tools, and technologies
Requirements:
* 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
* Experience developing in Scala, Node.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience in PHP and/or gRPC as a bonus
* Experience with evolving and scaling high-throughput applications
* Ability to contribute to project discovery, design, and implementation
* Desire to work in a collaborative, open environment on an Agile team as a contributor and mentor
* Fluent English language proficiency (C1 Advanced)
* BS degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field
