**R&D Manager, Chemist (Perfumery) – Tbilisi**
**About the company:**
Gamma D’ORO is an international perfume brand headquartered in Istanbul, with a global presence in over 600 retail locations and a portfolio of over 200 fragrances.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **New Product Development & Formulation (NPD):** Full-cycle creation of new perfume products, diffusers, and fragrance compositions from concept to industrial launch. Optimization of existing formulas for stability, organoleptic properties, and cost efficiency. Researching and evaluating new ingredients and raw materials for implementation.
* **Adaptation of Formulas for International Markets:** Adapting formulas to meet the requirements of new regions (IFRA, GCC, EU, local labeling and packaging restrictions). Collaborating with the Regulatory Affairs department to ensure compliance with export-import documentation and registration procedures.
* **Quality Control & Stability:** Ensuring product quality stability with a defect/return rate ≤ 2%. Conducting stability tests, physicochemical and microbiological analyses, and monitoring compliance with international cosmetic regulations. Defining and overseeing quality standards at all production stages.
* **Project Management & Cross-functional Collaboration:** Coordinating with Marketing, Production, Purchasing, and Regulatory departments for seamless new product launches. Managing development projects within deadlines and budget. Technical cooperation with raw material suppliers, factories, and external laboratories.
* **Cost Optimization & Innovation:** Achieving annual unit cost reduction without compromising quality or fragrance identity. Sourcing alternative suppliers and conducting supplier benchmarking. Implementing new technologies, alternative manufacturing processes, and innovative solutions.
* **Documentation & Regulatory Compliance:** Maintaining technical documentation and formula files in accordance with ISO 22716 / GMP. Ensuring full batch traceability (100% of products with a readable batch code and production date).
**Requirements:**
* **Experience:**
* Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (perfumery, cosmetics).
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chemist / Technologist, R&D Manager, or similar role in the perfumery or cosmetics industry.
* Proven track record of full-cycle new product launches.
* Experience adapting formulas to different market requirements (IFRA, EU, GCC, etc.).
* Hands-on experience in cost optimization projects and working with alternative raw material suppliers.
* Experience with batch traceability systems and quality control.
* **Skills and Competencies:**
* Deep knowledge of perfume raw materials, production technology, and stability assessment methods.
* Understanding of international regulatory requirements (IFRA, REACH, EU Cosmetic Regulation, labeling requirements).
* Systemic thinking and ability to work with data and financial indicators.
* Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with various departments and external partners.
* Leadership qualities to drive projects and make decisions in formulation development and raw material selection.
* Fluent Russian (for communication with colleagues from Kazakhstan). English at least at Intermediate level (for technical documentation and supplier communication).
