**About the role:**
Hunter Scouts is recruiting on behalf of a confidential financial technology platform that works with UK banks. We’re looking for a Senior/Director-level Solution Architect to lead enterprise SaaS pre-sales and architectural transformation programs for banking clients across the UK. You will partner closely with sales and delivery teams to design and communicate secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions across core banking domains, run discovery workshops, contribute to RFI/RFP responses, and produce architecture artifacts to guide delivery and modernization.
**Responsibilities:**
* Lead end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise SaaS adoption and modernization programs at banks.
* Drive technical pre-sales: run discovery workshops, shape solution strategy, and support RFI/RFP responses.
* Design scalable, secure, cloud-native architectures using microservices, APIs, and modern integration patterns.
* Produce architecture artifacts (HLDs, LLDs, sequence diagrams, integration designs) to guide delivery teams.
* Define integration approaches with core banking, pricing, and billing systems across retail, corporate, and commercial banking.
* Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices, leveraging containers and Kubernetes for delivery.
* Influence and present to executive (C-level) stakeholders and coordinate across multi-team, multi-geo delivery environments.
**Requirements:**
* Must be based in the United Kingdom and able to work on-site with travel to client locations as required.
* 12+ years of experience in software/enterprise architecture, including at least 8 years in banking or core-banking domains.
* Right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.
* Proven experience leading enterprise SaaS adoption or end-to-end architectural transformation programs for banks.
* Hands-on experience designing cloud-native architectures on a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and building microservices, API-led integration.
**Preferred Skills:**
* Hands-on CI/CD and DevOps experience, including Docker and Kubernetes.
* Experience producing HLDs, LLDs, sequence diagrams, and integration designs.
* Experience with API gateways, integration platforms, and integrating with pricing/billing/core banking systems.
* Knowledge of compliance and security standards (SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001) and identity & access management.
* Experience creating reference architectures, defining non-functional requirements, and establishing observability/resilience/disaster recovery patterns.
