We’re looking for a Senior/Lead Asterisk Developer to help us build and scale a cloud PBX solution based on Asterisk. You will be responsible for implementing different SIP proxy features using Asterisk, focusing on high availability and scalability. Your duties will include designing and implementing advanced Asterisk dialplans, debugging and fixing issues within Asterisk core and extensions, analyzing and interpreting system issues, and developing custom modules when needed. You will also apply a deep understanding of SIP signaling, RTP, SDP negotiation, codecs, NAT traversal, and work with Linux systems and Asterisk in cloud environments, preferably AWS. You will also participate in architecture decisions for telephony clusters.
We are looking for candidates with at least 7+ years of production experience with large-scale deployments (call servers with 60k+ active users), contributions to the Asterisk GitHub repository, and experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and Linux/networking. A good level of English (B2 or higher) is required. For Lead level roles, we expect you to act as the technical lead for the Asterisk domain, work cross-team with developers and QA, and own best practices, code quality, and documentation.
