Net2Phone is seeking a Senior Python Engineer with deep backend expertise and practical experience integrating AI into production systems. You’ll join our agile R&D team working on greenfield initiatives that harness LLMs, cloud infrastructure, and data-driven systems to build powerful new tools for real-world use.
Important note:
This role is not focused on building or fine-tuning custom AI/ML models. We are looking for engineers with strong backend and cloud skills who can integrate and operationalize LLMs from top providers into scalable products.
At IDT you will:
Architect and develop full-stack applications powered by LLMs and modern backend services
Integrate large language models into production systems through APIs and prompt engineering
Design and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Build and optimize data storage and querying for large, complex datasets
Rapidly prototype and iterate on MVPs and product concepts
Collaborate in a small, innovative R&D team with full autonomy and high impact
We expect you to have:
Expert-level Python development experience in backend-heavy environments
Strong experience using LLMs via APIs and prompt engineering (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic)
Deep understanding of cloud architecture, distributed systems, and deployment best practices
Proven skills in database design, optimization, and handling large datasets
Startup or R&D mindset: independent, curious, fast-moving, and pragmatic
Excellent communication skills and fluent English (B2+ or higher)
Nice to have: Full-stack capability with experience in React or modern frontend frameworks
