This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Engineer in Montenegro, Serbia, and Georgia.
This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team focused on building scalable, high-performance data systems that empower global business growth. You will design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure while collaborating closely with Developers, Data Analysts, and DevOps teams. Your work will support data-driven decision-making across the organization, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and security of data. This is a remote-friendly, high-impact environment where innovation, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration are valued. You will have the chance to work with modern cloud platforms, orchestration tools, and both SQL and NoSQL databases, contributing directly to the company’s data strategy and growth initiatives.
**Accountabilities**
* Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for both batch and real-time data processing
* Build and maintain data warehouses/lakes (e.g., Snowflake) and databases (SQL/NoSQL)
* Implement data integration solutions using tools such as dbt, Fivetran, and Apache Airflow
* Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance through monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions
* Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing for cost efficiency and performance
* Adhere to data governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
* Continuously improve existing pipelines, processes, and coding standards with minimal guidance
**Requirements**
* 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Database Administrator
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
* Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, Snowflake)
* Experience with NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Redis
* Programming skills in Python and Bash for data processing
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and services like S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, and SNS
* Knowledge of data orchestration and workflow automation tools (dbt, Airflow)
* Experience with data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate clearly across teams
* Self-driven, accountable, and able to adapt quickly to code styles, conventions, and evolving requirements
* Proficiency in English for reading and writing
