**IT Monitoring Specialist**
**Location:** Tbilisi, Georgia
**Department:** IT Operations / SRE
**Job Description**
United Financial Corporation (UFC), the leading payment processor in Georgia, is seeking an **IT Monitoring Specialist** to join our IT Operations & Reliability team. In this role, you will be the **first line of defense** in ensuring uninterrupted operation of our critical financial systems, including card processing, Visa/Mastercard connections, POS/ATM networks, eCommerce acquiring, tokenization (Apple/Google Pay), and fraud prevention platforms.
You will be responsible for **monitoring system dashboards, responding to alerts, and escalating incidents** in line with UFC’s operational and regulatory standards. While the SRE team designs and implements monitoring tools, your role is to **operate, observe, and react** — making sure issues are detected and addressed before they affect clients.
**Core Responsibilities**
* Monitor dashboards and alerting systems (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) for infrastructure, applications, and transaction flows.
* Track real-time payment transaction health (latency, throughput, decline/error spikes, POS/ATM connectivity).
* Respond to alerts, perform initial triage, and escalate incidents to SRE, Application Support, or Network teams.
* Maintain logs of incidents and prepare daily/weekly monitoring reports.
* Monitor Information Security (IS) events (e.g., unusual access attempts, alerts from SIEM) and escalate according to security incident procedures.
* Follow runbooks and escalation procedures to ensure timely resolution.
* Support root cause analysis by providing accurate monitoring data.
* Participate in 24/7 shift rotation to ensure around-the-clock coverage.
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree (or ongoing studies) in IT, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent practical experience also considered.
* 1–2 years of experience in IT operations, NOC, or monitoring role (internship or full-time).
* Basic understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, databases) and process flows.
* Familiarity with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, etc.).
* Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize anomalies.
* Willingness to work in shifts (24/7 monitoring coverage).
**Desired Skills**
* Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for simple automation tasks.
* Familiarity with **financial transaction systems or ISO8583 message flows** is a plus.
* Good communication skills for incident reporting and escalation.
* Eagerness to learn and grow towards an IT Monitoring Engineer or SRE role.
