**Role Description**
This is a contract on-site role for a Second Engineer, based in Georgia. The Second Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the engine room, including overseeing the performance and maintenance of machinery and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The role involves monitoring equipment performance, coordinating maintenance schedules, and providing support to the Chief Engineer while adhering to company policies and maritime regulations.
**Qualifications**
* Thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and marine machinery operation
* Experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and technology relevant to ship machinery
* Understanding of safety protocols and compliance with international maritime regulations
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
* Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with crew and onshore teams
* Valid Second Engineer certification and appropriate seafarer’s license
* Previous maritime experience and familiarity with industry-specific software are advantageous
