Cloud Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and operate solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, BigTable, and Cloud Run
* Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
* Build and support CI/CD pipelines
* Containerize applications and workflows using Docker and deploy them to cloud-native runtimes
* Develop and support Nextflow pipelines for cloud execution
* Enable and optimize HPC workflows, including cloud migrations and hybrid architectures
* Support Big Data and analytics workloads, including BigQuery performance and cost optimization
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate computational requirements into scalable cloud solutions
* Contribute to best practices around security, reliability, automation, and cost efficiency
Required Qualifications:
* English (B2+ or higher)
* Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, BigTable, or Cloud Run
* Strong DevOps background, including:
* Containerization (Docker)
* CI/CD pipelines
* Terraform
* Proficiency in Python and shell scripting
* Familiarity with additional programming languages is a plus
* Experience with Nextflow pipelines and cloud-based workflow orchestration
* Experience with HPC environments, scientific computing, or HPC-to-cloud migrations
* Working knowledge of Big Data tools and concepts, including query optimization
Nice to Have:
* Experience migrating on-prem or legacy HPC workloads to the cloud
* Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and networking best practices
* Experience supporting data science, bioinformatics, or research-driven workloads
* Familiarity with cost optimization and FinOps practices
* Experience mentoring teammates or contributing to shared engineering standards
