A mission-driven Israeli health-tech startup is working to build a smart, digital, and affordable HMO in the US. The company is developing a comprehensive healthcare solution that combines both medical services and health insurance, with a strong focus on reducing healthcare costs through proactive member health management.
Their digital platform allows members to manage their health easily โ from video calls with doctors and receiving prescriptions and referrals via the app, to tracking lab results and much more. The goal is to empower users with personalized insights that support healthier lifestyles and help prevent medical issues before they arise.
We are seeking a **Development Team Lead** to guide an engineering team in Georgia in building scalable, secure, and innovative solutions. This role requires strong hands-on backend expertise, full-stack capabilities, and a passion for mentoring and leading developers in a fast-paced startup environment.
**Core Responsibilities**
* Lead a team of developers in designing and building scalable backend and full-stack solutions.
* Own the architecture and development of RESTful APIs and microservices.
* Drive integration efforts with third-party systems and ensure robust data flows.
* Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Oversee code quality through reviews, testing strategies, and best practices.
* Mentor team members, foster a culture of collaboration, and support professional growth.
* Ensure high performance, reliability, and security across the platform.
* Contribute hands-on to both backend and frontend development when needed.
**Requirements**
* 6+ years of software development experience, including backend and frontend.
* Proven leadership experience in managing or mentoring engineering teams.
* Strong proficiency in Python and Django.
* Experience with PostgreSQL and cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
* Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and system architecture.
* Experience with frontend technologies such as React and/or React Native.
* Fluent English and experience working in global teams.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience with Kubernetes (K8S) and containerization.
* Familiarity with security best practices for API and web development.
* Experience in the US healthcare industry.
