**Role Description**
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior QA Engineer (Automation) located in Tbilisi.
You will take ownership of both manual and automated testing, ensuring high-quality delivery across complex distributed systems.
The role includes defining QA strategy, building an automation framework from scratch, and guiding both QA and development teams to uphold strong quality practices.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled engineer who combines hands-on automation experience with a proactive approach to improving processes and team collaboration.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Develop and execute a comprehensive QA strategy for OMNO’s payment platform.
* Design, implement, and maintain manual and automated test cases for web and backend services.
* Build an automation framework from scratch using modern testing tools and practices.
* Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure product quality and release reliability.
* Identify, document, and track defects; verify fixes through regression and exploratory testing.
* Continuously improve testing standards, coverage, and reporting metrics.
* Guide and mentor both QA and development teams on quality and automation best practices.
**Requirements**
* 5+ years of experience in QA engineering.
* 3+ years of experience in test automation.
* Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, testing processes, and SDLC.
* Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
* Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ownership of quality outcomes.
**Nice to Have**
* Java – Experience developing automation frameworks and integrating automated tests.
* AWS – Familiarity with testing and validating services within AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS/Fargate, S3, RDS, CloudWatch).
* Docker – Ability to create and manage containerized test environments for automated and manual testing.
* Playwright – Hands-on experience with UI and end-to-end test automation.
* Experience with performance or load testing tools
