**Overview:**
Singular is seeking a Team Lead for their Casino Squad within the Player Platform Tribe. This role is responsible for the technical and operational leadership of a squad of 5-10 engineers. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Technical Leader with strong engineering expertise, leadership, delivery drive, system ownership, and collaboration skills.
**Responsibilities:**
* **Engineering People Management:**
* Participate in recruitment, focusing on technical proficiency and cultural fit.
* Guide and mentor engineers, focusing on technical skill development, code quality, system design, and problem-solving.
* Foster a psychologically safe, collaborative, and technically curious team environment.
* Manage scheduling and time off, organize on-call rotations, and ensure service continuity.
* Develop and motivate engineers through clear growth plans.
* Ensure the team consistently delivers roadmap items aligned with company vision and mission.
* Measure team effectiveness using agreed metrics.
* **Foster a Sustainable & Scalable Engineering Culture:**
* Lead engineering practices by example, including coding, design, and code reviews.
* Define and drive the technical vision, standards, and best practices for architecture, performance, and maintainability.
* Serve as the technical owner of the squad’s systems and applications, ensuring reliability, scalability, testability, and maintainability.
* Collaborate with other teams on system interfaces, data contracts, and application flows.
* Make architectural decisions that support immediate delivery and long-term sustainability.
* Champion engineering best practices (clean code, modular design, observability, CI/CD automation).
* Ensure adherence to SDLC principles in partnership with Scrum Masters, Product, QA, Delivery, and Architects.
* Manage and prioritize technical debt and codebase health.
* Drive adoption of technical enablers (technical designs, code reviews, testing frameworks, monitoring, etc.).
* Ensure systems meet regulatory and compliance standards.
* Input into framework and language choices, and development build/deployment tooling.
* Ensure backlog balances new features and operational work, respecting SLA commitments.
* **Champion Quality and Continuous Improvement:**
* Lead planning, estimation, and prioritization of technical tasks.
* Contribute directly to coding, reviews, and debugging.
* Collaborate with QA, Architects, Product, and DevOps for high-quality deliverables.
* Lead technical expertise in incident management and root cause analysis.
* Set high standards in code reviews, refactoring, and test automation.
* Promote innovation, technical experimentation, and knowledge sharing.
* Ensure Definition of Done is achieved.
* **Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:**
* Act as a technical point of contact for stakeholders, communicating technical decisions clearly.
* Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering Managers to shape project goals and roadmaps.
* Represent the technical domain in tribe-level planning and design discussions.
* Communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and dependencies transparently.
**Qualifications:**
* 6+ years of experience in building modern applications, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior technical role.
* Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale applications.
* Experience with high-performant SaaS products.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams in a technology domain.
* Hands-on technical experience with CI/CD pipelines, code versioning, delivery, code quality tools, and observability.
* Good understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
* Proficiency with Atlassian tools (JIRA & Confluence).
* Advanced English language proficiency.
