The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build core infrastructure for a real-time platform processing massive data volumes with millisecond-level latency requirements. You’ll work directly with the CTO on systems handling high-throughput event streams, state management, and sub-second WebSocket communications.

This is a high-ownership role. You’ll ship features end-to-end, make architectural decisions, and document your reasoning clearly. We don’t micromanage, we expect you to find the path and walk it.

What You’ll Do
Design and build backend services for real-time data processing (NestJS, PostgreSQL, Redis)
Process high-frequency event streams with millisecond-level precision
Build and maintain distributed systems: event-driven workers, message queues, state machines
Write technical documentation that others can actually use. Architecture decisions, implementation plans, postmortems.
Design systems that scale not just client-server patterns, but complex, domain-specific architectures
Use AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor) as core parts of your workflow, not afterthoughts
Ship independently while collaborating asynchronously with a small team

What We’re Looking For

Technical
5-6+ years of backend/fullstack engineering experience.
Advanced TypeScript. You write it fluently and understand its type system deeply.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL/Redis, and when to use each.
Hands-on with message queues (RabbitMQ, Redis Streams, Kafka, or similar).
Built and operated distributed systems in production. You understand consistency, latency tradeoffs, and failure modes.
Comfortable with event-driven architectures and real-time WebSocket systems.
Able to build simple frontend interfaces with React and Next.js.
Solid Docker and general containerization experience.
You’ve shipped services to production end-to-end, deployment configuration, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring. If you’ve only written code and handed it off, this isn’t the role.
Can debug production issues under pressure. You’ve been on-call and survived.
Solid testing discipline: unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests. You ship with confidence.
Able to orchestrate AI agents and integrate them into workflows.
Experience building AI agents is a strong plus.

Working Style
You’re an advanced Claude Code or Codex user who treats AI-assisted development as a force multiplier
You thrive under pressure. We’re an extremely hard-working team. You’ll regularly operate outside your comfort zone and push your limits.
You’re comfortable working whenever needed. We are not a strict 10:00-18:00, close-the-laptop team.
You write obsessively plans before code, docs after shipping, clear async communication.
You’re a pathfinder: given a problem and constraints, you figure out the approach without hand-holding.
You take feedback well and give it constructively. You can detach your ego from your code.
You’re genuinely curious. You read, experiment, and stay sharp on tools and techniques.
Native-level English, written and spoken.

What We Offer
Salary: 9,000–12,000 GEL/month net, based on experience.
Early-stage startup with funding and solid runway.
Team of <5 people, direct collaboration with founding team All AI tools provided: Codex, Cursor, Claude Max, CodeRabbit, and more. Async-first, remote-friendly culture. Room to shape technical direction from the ground up.
