**Role Description**
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Machine Learning Engineer to be the foundational member of our ML/Data Science team. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of our machine learning lifecycle, from ideation and research to deployment and monitoring. As a core ML expert, you will have a significant impact on our product direction and company success. You will be responsible for leading the development of our core AI features, including a sophisticated conversational LLM Agent, real-world object detection systems, and a powerful semantic search engine.
**What You’ll Do**
* **Lead and Own:** Take full ownership of the ML roadmap, from architectural design to hands-on development and deployment in a fast-paced startup environment.
* **Conversational AI Development:** Design, build, and refine a sophisticated, GPT-based conversational agent using cutting-edge frameworks. This includes developing agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and building conversational flows with models like Rasa.
* **Computer Vision Solutions:** Develop and productionize real-world computer vision models for object detection. This includes managing data pipelines, model training, and deploying high-performance models.
* **Semantic Search Enhancement:** Implement and improve our semantic search capabilities using a hybrid approach that combines traditional and modern vector search technologies.
* **Strategic Contribution:** As a key member of the engineering team, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering and product teams to define the future of AI at our company.
* **Technical Leadership:** While initially a hands-on role, you will be expected to provide technical leadership and help shape the future of the ML team as the company grows.
**What We’re Looking For**
* **Experience:** 2+ years of hands-on experience in a Machine Learning Engineer role, with a proven track record of shipping ML models to production.
* **LLM and Conversational AI Expertise:** Demonstrable experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and conversational AI frameworks.
* **Computer Vision Proficiency:** Solid experience with computer vision, particularly with object detection models.
* **Search and Information Retrieval:** Understanding of modern search technologies, including keyword-based search and vector databases.
* **Startup Mindset:** You are a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in a fast-paced, autonomous environment. You have a product-oriented mindset and are passionate about building solutions that deliver value to users.
* **Excellent Communicator:** You can clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
