**Role Description**
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Kotlin Backend Developer located in Tbilisi, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Senior Java/Kotlin Backend Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend solutions, implementing microservices, following design patterns, and ensuring software quality. The developer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable systems, solve complex problems, and improve overall system performance.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin and Java.
* Design and implement RESTful APIs to support frontend functionality.
* Optimize application performance and scalability.
* Ensure data integrity and security across services.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and ship new features.
* Write unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality.
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to backend architecture decisions.
* Troubleshoot and debug production issues as needed.
**Requirements**
* 2+ years of professional experience in backend development using Kotlin and Java.
* Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, microservices architecture, and API design.
* Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
* Familiarity with Spring Boot or Ktor frameworks.
* Experience working with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
* Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD practices.
* Ability to work in Agile development environments and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
**Nice to Have**
* Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
* Background in the gaming, betting, or fintech industries.
* Exposure to message queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
* Understanding of event-driven architectures and reactive programming.
