**Job Description:**
We are building VertoX – an AI-powered real-time voice translation platform. The product is preparing for launch, and the company is being incorporated in the USA (Delaware).
We are looking for a strong Senior Backend Developer to join the core team and take ownership of the backend infrastructure. This is a startup core-team role, not a short-term contract.
**Responsibilities:**
* Take ownership of the backend infrastructure.
* Build and maintain high-performance backend services.
* Integrate ASR/TTS/Translation APIs (OpenAI, Deepgram, Azure, Google, or similar).
* Process real-time audio streaming.
* Design and implement low-latency system architecture.
* Manage and store audio files, transcripts, and user history.
* Build and maintain REST and WebSocket APIs.
* Implement API security and authentication systems (JWT, OAuth).
* Set up CI/CD pipelines.
* Manage and optimize Linux servers.
* Implement monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
* Collaborate closely with AI/ML Engineers and React Native Developers.
**Requirements:**
* 7+ years of experience.
* Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI) or Go (Gin/Fiber/Echo).
* Experience building high-performance backend services.
* Experience with clean architecture and production-ready code practices.
* Hands-on experience with WebRTC and WebSockets.
* Understanding of STUN/TURN servers and real-time communication flows.
* Experience working with audio codecs and formats: Opus, PCM, WAV.
* Experience with real-time streaming pipelines.
* Knowledge of low-latency system design.
* Experience integrating ASR/TTS/Translation APIs.
* Experience with voice-related APIs and AI services.
* Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL.
* Experience with Redis (caching, queues, rate-limiting).
* Familiarity with ClickHouse is a plus.
* Proficiency with Docker and Docker Compose.
* Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
* Linux server management and optimization.
* Experience with microservices architecture.
* Experience with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana.
* Experience with JWT, OAuth, and authentication systems.
* Experience with API security and encryption.
* Experience with Twilio / Vonage or telephony systems is a big plus.
* Ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment.
