**Job Description:**
We are building VertoX – an AI-powered real-time voice translation platform. The product is preparing for launch, and the company is being incorporated in the USA (Delaware). We are looking for a strong Senior Backend Developer to join the core team and take ownership of the backend infrastructure. This is a startup core-team role, not a short-term contract.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Take ownership of the backend infrastructure.
* Build high-performance backend services.
* Implement clean architecture and production-ready code practices.
* Work with WebRTC and WebSockets for real-time communication.
* Understand STUN/TURN servers and real-time communication flows.
* Handle audio codecs and formats: Opus, PCM, WAV.
* Manage real-time streaming pipelines.
* Design and implement low-latency systems.
* Integrate ASR/TTS/Translation APIs (OpenAI, Deepgram, Azure, Google, or similar).
* Process real-time audio streams.
* Work with voice-related APIs and AI services.
* Manage PostgreSQL and Redis databases.
* Utilize Docker and Docker Compose.
* Set up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
* Manage Linux servers and optimize performance.
* Implement microservices architecture.
* Implement and maintain REST and WebSocket APIs.
* Work with JWT, OAuth, and authentication systems.
* Ensure API security and encryption.
* Manage and store audio files, transcripts, and user history.
* Integrate with telephony systems (Twilio/Vonage) (big plus).
**Requirements:**
* Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI) or Go (Gin/Fiber/Echo).
* Hands-on experience with WebRTC and WebSockets.
* Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL.
* Experience with Redis (caching, queues, rate-limiting).
* Familiarity with ClickHouse is a plus.
* Proficiency with Docker and Docker Compose.
* Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines.
* Linux server management and optimization skills.
* Experience with microservices architecture.
* Knowledge of monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana.
* Experience with API security and encryption.
